- Brazos Bend State Park Volunteer Organization
Volunteers are non-paid support staff. Our purpose is to assist and educate the visitors of Brazos Bend State Park through information, interpretive programs, and to assist in the care and conservation of this 5,000 acre park. The Brazos Bend volunteers have been recognized for the highest number of volunteer hours, 15,821, for any park in Texas.

THE FRIENDS OF HERMANN PARK, A NON-PROFIT CITIZENS' ORGANIZATION, IS DEDICATED TO THE PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT OF ONE OF HOUSTON'S MOST HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC GREEN SPACES. Houston Raceway Park was founded in 1988 by two local families, the Angel family from Baytown and the Gay family from Dickinson, Texas. Both Families have deep roots in drag racing and continue to be leaders in the industry. Through their joint affiliation in Houston Raceway Park, their dreams and ambitions of buildings and operating the finest drag racing complex in the world have come to pass.
