Warren S. Bellows founded W. S. Bellows Construction Corporation in 1914 in Canada,
but soon moved the company to Kansas City, Missouri. In 1920 the company moved to Oklahoma City and won contracts throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee. Bellows moved its home office to Houston in 1936, soon after it was awarded the contract
for the San Jacinto Monument.
