Inprint, Inc. is Houston's only major nonprofit organization dedicated to that shimmering go between, the literary arts. Founded in 1983 by a group of community volunteers and writers from the University of Houston Creative Writing Program, Inprint is an independent entity that serves as an advocate for the city's writers and literary activity.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is a national organization established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker in honor of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. The Foundation operates with a network of volunteers working through 114 local affiliates and 108 Komen Race for the CureŽ events.

- Northwest Amateur Radio Society
The Northwest Amateur Radio Society was established in 1985 and serves amateur radio operators in the suburban FM 1960 area NW of Houston. NARS is active in community and public service events. Our members are diverse with special interest in QRP, DXing, contesting, homebrew, ragchewing, VE sessions, and getting together for our favorite activity, eating. Our biggest event every year is Field Day.
