Directory One, Inc. is a Texas corporation chartered on January 3, 2000 for the purpose of creating Free Directory Assistance on the Internet. Directory One, Inc. now offers development, promotion and design of Internet web sites, web site hosting, domain name registration, and Internet training and technical support.

Directory One's mission is to help businesses find the most cost effective way to profit from the Internet experience. Directory One operates under the concept that the Internet can be an effective medium for businesses to invest advertising dollars, but only when their websites are strategically marketed.

CheckHouston.com is a city guide, directory and professional services web site for the Greater Houston Area. Its main focus is helping local businesses establish an online presence while providing consumers a means to find them.

CheckHouston.com was founded on the idea that people, whether consumers or producers, would rather conduct business in their own locale if the resources they required were there. Why spend hours looking for what you need on a global basis, when the answer may be closer than you think? CheckHouston.com was created for Houstonians, and serves as a central hub for people in the community who believe in looking local first.

Current Management and Founders

Mr. Philip O'Hara (founder of Directory One) is the current CEO of Directory One. He is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1980 and started a business assisting small businesses in reducing costs of advertising in "Yellow Page Directories."

Mr. Brian L. Wright (founder of CheckHouston.com) is the current President of CheckHouston.com. Originally from New York, Mr. Wright moved to Houston, Texas in 1998. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has developed and managed several community-based web sites over the past 5 years, some of which have been mentioned in Entrepreneur Magazine. Brian specializes in "Online Marketing" for small to mid-sized businesses.
